스위스의 디자인 스튜디오 아뜰리에 오이는 한국의 음악인 박지하와 함께 소리와 공간, 그리고 예술의 경계를 재정의하는 콜라보레이션을 기획해 특별전시를 선보입니다.
아뜰리에 오이는 얇은 금속 물질을 겹겹으로 연결한 인위적인 공간에서 각각의 스트링이 생성해내는 진동을 통해 만질 수 없는 성질의 사운드로 공간을 구성합니다. 한국 전통 악기를 모던 일렉트로닉으로 결합한 독특한 음악 스타일을 가진 박지하와 협업을 통해 사운드와 공간, 예술 사이의 경계를 허무는 조화로운 집합점을 제시합니다.

‘Cinematica: A Harmonious Convergence of Art, Design, and Music’

The Swiss design studio atelier oï will showcase the sound installation in collaboration with Park Jiha. The collaboration redefines the boundaries of sound, space, design and art.
This immersive installation combines atelier oï’s poetic design with Park Jiha’s captivating music, featuring traditional Korean instruments and modern electronic elements. The exhibition invites us to perceive the invisible magic of sound through an undulating choreography organized by various movements.

‘Re:form plastic-ground: 물성에 대한 재고와 감각, 경험의 공간’

한국의 헤리티지를 모던 디자인 언어로 재해석하는 가구 디자이너 하지훈과 디파인 서울은 아름다움 속에서 새롭게 재탄생한 플라스틱을 오감으로 경험하고, 플라스틱에 대한 지속가능한 활용 가치에 대해 재고할 수 있는 특별전시를 선보입니다.
이번 전시에서는 관객 참여형 프로그램을 통해, 보고, 만지고, 맛보고, 귀로 듣는 오감의 아름다움을 경험하는 기회를 선사합니다.

‘Re:form plastic-ground: Rethinking Materiality and Space of Sensory Experience’

Korean furniture designer Ha Jihoon, known for reinterpreting heritage through modern design, collaborates with DEFINE SEOUL to present a special exhibition that explores new ways to experience plastic through beauty.
With interactive programs that allow them to drink tea and listen to serene soundscapes, visitors can fully engage their senses—seeing, touching, tasting, and hearing the beauty.

‘디파인 셀렉션 Define Selection’

디파인 서울의 아티스틱 디렉터 양태오 디자이너는 글로벌 미술계가 이목이 집중되고 있는 도시 - 서울 속에서 주목해야할 디자이너 3인을 선정해 소개하는 특별전시 디파인 셀렉션을 선보입니다.
김대운, 최성일, WKND Lab(위켄드랩) 3인으로 구성된 이번 전시는 양태오 디렉터가 기획한 올해의 주제 ‘단순의 의미’를 바탕으로, 본질적인 가치를 이야기하는 예술가와 디자이너에 의해 창작된 사물을 소개합니다. 단순함을 추구하는 삶의 태도를 생각해보는 자리를 제안하는 이번 전시는 에스팩토리 1층과 2층에 나뉘어 진행됩니다.

‘Stone Composition’

작년 디파인 서울 2023의 루프탑에 전시되며 큰 인기를 끌었던 이태수 작가의 장소특정적 설치작품 Stone Composition이 다시 한번 성수동 배경과 어우러지는 2층 테라스에서 선보여집니다.
주로 커다란 돌을 사용하며 유리판, 의자, 파이프, 사슬 등을 활용해 심플한 이미지의 설치작을 보여주는 Stone Composition는 또 다른 특별전과 다이얼로그를 형성할 수 있도록 전체 전시공간의 레이아웃을 활용해 펼쳐집니다.

‘Stone Composition’

Artist's site-specific installation Stone Composition, which gained popularity at last year's DEFINE SEOUL 2023 rooftop exhibition, will once again be showcased, this time on a second-floor terrace that harmonizes with the Seongsu-dong backdrop.
Stone Composition features large stones combined with glass panels, chairs, pipes, and chains to create a simple yet striking installation. The work will be arranged to form a dialogue with other special exhibitions, utilizing the overall layout of the exhibition space.

‘Compressed Series’

김덕한 작가는 스스로의 기원을 찾기 위해 지나간 흔적을 들여다보며, 단편의 기억, 조각들이 모여 사고를 형성하고 압축된 것을 표현하기 위해 모빌로 형상화한 작품 Compressed Series를 선보입니다.
스테인리스 구체에 옷칠을 겹겹이 바르고, 사포로 갈아낸 Compressed Series는 작품 속에서 하나로 정의 내리기 어렵고 증식되고 나열되는 사고의 연속성을 논합니다. 이런 사고의 흐름을 디자인으로 치환시키며 단순히 예술로서 인식할 수 있게 유도합니다.

‘Compressed Series’

Artist explores his origins by reflecting on past traces and fragments of memory, which come together to form thoughts. He presents the Compressed Series, a mobile sculpture representing the compression of these memories and thoughts.
In the Compressed Series, layers of lacquer are meticulously applied and sanded onto stainless steel spheres, symbolizing the continuous, proliferating nature of thought that resists being simply defined.
